Director's Statement

I love two things. Jersey Shore (2009 - 2011) and 12 Angry Men (1957). I wanted to combine the two, thought it would be a good premise for a comedy. It was tough; mixing a philosophical courtroom drama with a crappy reality tv show and after much consultation I decided to let most of the 12 Angry Men elements go since a complete translation of that screenplay didn’t turn out to be very funny. Almost every line in the script is either a Jersey Shore or 12 Angry Men quote. 

In the end, my vision is a grown up reflection on Jersey Shore dynamics from a 2023 perspective, poking fun at the language and shallowness of the characters with some commentary of gender roles mixed in. In the end, Jersey Shore is funny because the characters are dumb and constantly contradict themselves. I hope more humor will arise when I consciously pick out their problems and quotes and condense them into a murder mystery.
